In order to further promote people-to-people exchanges, China decided to expand its visa waiver program and extend visa-free policy to ordinary passport holders from Russia from 00:00, 15 September 2025 to 24:00, 14 September 2026 (Beijing Time UTC+8). 

Ordinary passport holders from Russia can be exempted from visa to enter China and stay for no more than 30 days for business, tourism, family/friends visit, exchange and transit purposes. 

Those who do not meet the visa-free conditions mentioned above still need to apply for a visa before entering China.

So far, China's unilateral visa-free policy has covered 47 countries.
