On August 17, the Embassy of China in Estonia hosted an Open Day featuring music, dance and intangible cultural heritage from Yunnan Province. Around 50 guests attended the event, including artists from the Golden Bird Silver Bird Art Troupe of Yunnan Province who were visiting Estonia, as well as representatives from the Estonian business and media communities, KungFu and TaiChi associations, the Chinese community in Estonia, and followers of the Embassy’s social media.
The guests enjoyed hulusi performances, classical dance, Yi ethnic dance and Tibetan ethnic dance, took part in hands-on experiences featuring Bai ethnic tie-dye, lacquer fans and touhu (Chinese arrow-throwing game), and sampled a variety of Yunnan specialties, including bingfen (a refreshing jelly dessert), rice noodles and Yunnan ham buckwheat buns. The event was held in a warm and lively atmosphere, with guests expressing high appreciation for the profound richness and inclusive nature of Chinese culture.

On the same day, some of the artists staged a cultural flash mob in Tallinn’s Old Town, attracting a large number of local residents and tourists to watch.
