Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing paid an official visit to Estonia from August 16 to 17, 2005, at the invitation of Estonian Foreign Minister Ulmas Paet. Estonian President Arnold Ruutel banqueted and met with the Chinese delegation headed by Li. Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip also met with Li. Estonian Foreign Minister Ulmas Paet and Chinese Foreign Minister Li held formal talks and met with journalists.

During his stay in Estonia, Li also called on the staffs in the Chinese embassy and overseas Chinese students there.
