Shanghai Education Fair held in Tallinn University

On May 13th, the 8th Shanghai Education Fair was held in Tallinn University by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission in association with Confucius Institute of Tallinn University. 27 well-known Chinese universities including Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and 7 middle schools participated in the event. Chinese Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Mr. Qu Zhe, Deputy Secretary General of Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia Mr. MadisLepajõe, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission Mr Li Ruiyang and Vice Rector of Tallinn University Professor Pritt Reiskaattended the opening ceremony of the fair.

 

 
 

Ambassador Qu Zhe briefly introduced China's educational development. He also reviewed some of the major achievements of bilateral educational cooperation between China and Estonia.He acknowledged great contribution of universities from Shanghai and Confucius Institute in Tallinn University in promoting Chineselanguage and culture in Estonia.

 

 
 

Mr. Lepajõe warmly welcomed the delegation from Shanghai and saidthat the MOU just signed between the Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission on education cooperation will play a positive role in promoting China-Estonia education and people-to-people exchanges. Mr. Li Ruiyang introduced Shanghai educational development in recent years and expressed his sincere appreciation to Estonian Ministry of Education and Research and Tallinn University in supporting the Fair.Mr. Li also encouraged Estonian students to further their studies at universities in Shanghai. Professor Pritt Reiska reviewed the cooperation between Tallinn University and Shanghai University of Science and Technology on jointly operating the Confucius Institute and hoped to enhance cooperation between Tallinn University and Chinese higher education institutions.
