Your Excellency Prime Minister Ansip,

Distinguished guests,

Ladies and gentlemen,

First of all, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Estonia, I would like to thank you for joining us to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. I wish to extend my warmest welcome to you all.

Since the founding of new China 64 years ago, especially since the implementation of reform and opening up 35 years ago, China has made outstanding economic and social achievements. It is now the world's second largest economy, and people's living standard has been drastically improved. At the same time China has become more interrelated with the world, committing itself to promoting win-win cooperation and common development with all other countries around the world.

Nowadays the "Chinese Dream" is a most talked about phrase in China. The Chinese Dream inspires the revival of the Chinese nation. It means prosperity for China. Fundamentally, the Chinese Dream is all about the Chinese people. It means all Chinese can pursue and enjoy a happy life. It also means all Chinese will grow and prosper as China grows and prospers. Today we are closer than ever to this end. To fulfill our dream, we have further laid out two specific goals. One is to double China's 2010 GDP and per capita income of urban and rural residents by 2020 and complete the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects. The other is to turn China into a modern socialist country which is prosperous, strong, culturally advanced and harmonious by the 100th anniversary of the founding of the new China.

To fulfill our goal and go along the way that has been identified, we will continue to make development our top priority and advance economic, political, cultural, social, and ecological progress in an all-around way to seek sustainable development.

Ladies and gentlemen,

China’s development and the Chinese dream coming true will provide positive energy not only to the world but also to China-Estonia relations. We hope to work together with all countries including Estonia towards a common world dream. As the world's second largest importing market, China is expected to import 10 trillion US dollars of goods in the next five years while its investment overseas is estimated to be about 500 billion US dollars. Outbound Chinese tourists will probably reach 400 million. These will provide new opportunities of cooperation and development for other countries in the world including Estonia.

I am happy to see that pragmatic cooperation between China and Estonia are making headways in recent years. Exchanges and cooperation have been productive in fields like trade, culture, education, and local governments. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation to Estonian friends from all walks of life that have dedicated themselves and made great contributions to promoting the bilateral relations.

At present China's development has come to a crucial stage of transformation and upgrading, there exists a big room for China-Estonia cooperation. I believe that as long as we respect each other’s core interests and main concerns, work together to enhance political mutual trust, strengthen practical cooperation, and with our joint efforts the China-Estonia relations will make further progress.

To conclude, I wish to propose a toast,

To the 64th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China!

To the prosperity of both China and Estonia

And to the health of all of you here!

Cheers!
