On the occasion of the earthquake disaster in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, China, on May 12th, 2008, H.E. Mr. Toomas Hendrik Ilves, President of the Republic of Estonia, and H.E. Mr. Urmas Paet, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, sent respectively their letters of condolence to H.E. Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China, and H.E. Mr. Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, expressing their deepest sympathy and condolences to the quake-hit area. The Estonian Government immediately decided to offer an aid of 500,000 Kroons to the quake-hit area. The Chinese Government and the People would like to express the sincere thanks to the Estonian Government and the People for the sympathy, condolences and generous aid to the Chinese People. We are confident that under the firm leadership of the Chinese Government and with the kind support by the Estonian and other countries' Governments and Peoples around the world, the indestructible Chinese People will definitely conquer the earthquake disaster and rebuild their beautiful homeland.
