On 12-15 November, the member of the standing committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China and the Vice Chairman of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of NPC Mr. Long Zhuangwei visited Estonia.
Accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Estonia Mr Qu Zhe, the delegation met with Chairman of the Riigikogu Rural Affairs Committee Mr. Aivar Kokk and members of the Committee. The delegation also had a meeting with Estonian Minister of Rural Affairs Mr. Tarmo Tamm. Each side gave an overview of the agricultural sector and the rural development of their home country. Mr. Long agreed with his Estonian colleagues to strengthen exchanges at committee level between the two legislatures. Both sides also exchanged views on promoting trade and scientific research in agriculture.
During the visit, the delegation also visited a local dairy company and an organic farm and had a meeting with Estonian Rural Development Foundation.
