Chinese Embassy holds film reception on Kungfu Panda for school students

On April 8th, the Chinese Embassy in Estonia organized a Film Reception for secondary school students in Tallinn. More than 110 students from Gustav Adolf Grammar School, Tallinna Kesklinna Vene Gumnaasiumand, Tallinn University Confucius Institutes and SOS Village attended the event.

 

 

Before the screening, a short video clip about panda and protection of this endangered species was played in order to raise the awareness. A representative of young Chinese diplomats shared a little story about himself, and asked the students to think further about the underlying message when watching the film. During the reception after the film, student representatives shared their understanding on the film and expressed their great interests in Chinese culture.

 
 

The Chinese Ambassador H.E. Mr Qu Zhe made a closing remark at the reception. He said he was delighted to see growing interest in China and Chinese culture in Estonian society. He commended what the Confucius Institute and many Estonian secondary schools for bringing Chinese language and culture a step closer to Estonian students. He also encouraged all Chinese language teachers to develop innovative teaching methods, which not only teach student the language per se but also help them understand the essentials of Chinese culture and philosophy.
